The YLDP assists students, who are chosen for their demonstrated character, to develop leadership skills. 

Due to the large number of YLDP High School Partners involved, the YLDP has great diversity within the student body. The YLDP has diversity of gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, economic background, and academic achievement. 

The YLDP is a model of and for tomorrow’s America, where diversity is treasured as one of its greatest resources.
